A Rivalry Built on Tradition
The Secretaries’ Cup is the annual football showdown between the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Bears and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Mariners. More than just a game, this long-standing rivalry brings together two service academies for an exciting matchup built on competition, camaraderie and pride.
Named in honor of the cabinet secretaries who oversee the two academies, the Secretaries’ Cup celebrates the dedication and service represented by both institutions. Each year, cadets, alumni, families and fans come together to cheer on their teams and carry on a tradition that extends far beyond the football field.
For Coast Guard fans, it’s a chance to show your pride, get loud and rally behind the Bears as they battle for the Cup.
