Listed below is a summary of the general categories of authorized patrons who are eligible to shop at CGX.

Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard members on active duty and their dependents
Military academies’ cadets and midshipmen and their dependents
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) commissioned officers on extended active duty and their dependents
Public Health Service (PHS) commissioned officers on extended active duty and their dependents
Members of the Reserves and their dependents
Delayed entry personnel

Veterans with service-connected disabilities
All honorably discharged veterans (eligible online only)
U.S. Armed Forces honorably discharged veterans and honorably discharged NOAA and PHS commissioned officers when hospitalized where Exchange stores are available
Medal of Honor recipients and their dependents

Contract surgeons employed under a limited term by the Surgeon General
Officers and enlisted personnel of a foreign country's armed forces when visiting a U.S. installation on official business

U.S. Armed Forces official organizations or activities composed of personnel on active military duty
U.S. Armed Forces Exchanges' Associates (CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico)
Coast Guard, DOD, and DHS civilian employees
DHS/DOD civilian Associates on TDY and Coast Guard, Army, Navy, and Air Force Academy applicants if occupying government quarters
Government civilian Associates and full-time staff of the Red Cross, and their dependents, who are required to reside on military installations in CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico
Civilian students and faculty members at service schools

Military Exchange systems’ retired Associates with 20 or more years of service and their dependents
Active Coast Guard Auxiliary members
